I went ahead and got a T/C Encore Super 209x45 barrel for my Encore. I called Precision Rifle and talked to them and they recommended their 250g 40cal saboted PT bullets for the 1:20 twist. I ordered 50 to do some load testing.
My new questions are, "What 209 primers have worked the best with Pyrodex RS powder for you?" and "What powder has worked the best for your 209 Inline?"
Thanks for any and all comments!
Shoot safe!

I have a conversion kit from Hastings for my 1100 Remington. That's the only in-line I have that shoots 209s. I've used Federal & Winchester with no obvious difference. The same goes with my Pyrodex, no significant difference between RS or Select.

I don`t think that you wil find much difference in primers. I have used Win. and Cheddite primers in mine just because thats what I had on hand. Win. is one of the colder 209 primers and Federal is the hotest, so I would guess that you might get 2 or 3 fps. more velosity with a Federal primer, but I just grab what`s handy. I shoot a 209-.50.

I like number 11 on a caplock personally. - I agree with Catfish you are not going to see a difference in perfomace with different primers. Use what you have, or can readily find. A 209 is more than enough to get the charcoal a burnin' - even those hard to light pellets.
The person pulling the trigger has more to do with a ML performance than anything else. It's up to them to develope a load that works well in the gun, and then spend enough time prior to the hunting season to know what the limitations are.
Good luck.
