Slings on Big bore rifles

Hey guy's,
I've been gone for awhile( dove & teal htg). I was watching
Kawasaki's Wild sky's and Tony Makris was hunting Greater & Lesser Kudu. My question is why didn't Tony(using a scoped dbl) &
his PH(bolt rifle) use slings on their rifles? I mean they were stalking for 4 hour's. That seems a long time to lug a 9-10 lb.

Many PHs do not like slings because there is a possibility of the sling getting hung up in the brush or in the shooters arms or shoulder and that would prohibit a quick shot. This is particularly an issue when hunting dangerous game. It may become a life or death situation.

I used a sling when I was in Africa and it was not an issue with my PH (in fact he had a sling on his .375 but he did not have a sling on his .500 Jeffery) nor was it an issue on the hunt.
