What is this all about? Well, I got your attention and now I will elaborate:

I am a Civil War re-enactor and dress the part for parades, "battles" and grave-side ceremonies. Last month at a yard sale, I bought 3 sets of camo fatigues for a dollar a set. All have insignia of rank, name tags, unit patches etc. For the last two weeks, I put on a set of cammies, blouse my jump boots and then take a military rifle for a walk over the farm.(proper web gear is an option) I think it helps to dress the part for taking a venerable military rifle for a walk. On my farm, I have numerous gongs that get shot at on every trek.

I can say with some authority that it helps to be properly attired when going afield. Who else dresses the part? We have a local WWII re-enactment group of which I am a member; now I have more uniforms for events. Keep checking them yard sales.

one little mistake adam, "ya blouse your pants, not your boots". or as my ol' ncoic used to say, "your trousers."

yes, it's still fun to play soldier, even though i was one for 27 years. i don't know whether you caught the thread about wearing cammies in public or not. i told everybody there that i still wear cammie pants almost all the time. i love them, there comfy, i can jam all kinds of stuff in the many pockets and the camo hides dirt!!! he. he.

i found as i aged in life jeans just were not comfortable anymore and i wasn't as mobile, even the relaxed fit jeans weren't comfortable. no problem since i started wearing fatigue pants.

besides that i got that furniture disease, ie: my chest dropped into my drawers.

have a good one bud.

Billy D,

Yep, you are correct, I blouse my BDUs to my jump boots. Now, we got that sorted out, eh, wot? I like the pockets on the legs of the cammies as it is easier to get to stuff on stand for turkey, deer, chucks, or whatever.

Happy Labor Day, my friend.
