I'm looking for any info I can get. savage shooters and rimfire central have been little help. Maybe if I become a member at savage shooters I'll get better response, does anyone think that will help?. Basically loking for some good history, value, and parts suppliers. It does not fire and it doesn't chamber the shell correctly. The firing pin seems to be hitting the rim, as it leaves a mark. Doesn't fire though. Probable need to address that in the gunsmith forum.

Unless i am wrong...this would be a tube magazine 22 LR semi auto. They were discontinued quite a while ago. To be honest one of my favorite 22 rifles. I happen to have 3... all work just fine. Finding parts will be tough. I think they are all the same rifles but designations are Model 87 87A and 887. Yours will probably be grooved on top for 22 tip off scope mounting. Mine all need to have a side mount as they aren't grooved. Only place to find parts will be Gun Parts Corporation.. They have a web site but I don't know the address. Luck The last one I bought was from a pawn shop in Arkansas of all places...45 bucks...and worth twice the price!!

BTW...the gun just may need a very good cleaning. They aren't too hard to take apart. Take the action out of the stock...should be held in by the bolt on the underside of the forend.... Then there is a nut on the back of the receiver that unscrews pretty easily.. heavy spring. then you can drop the bolt out. Clean all the gunk off the bolt and in the bolt and around the bolt..including inside the receiver. put a drop or two of oil on the darn thing and reassemble. May just work ok. Oh clean the shell lifter wires(springs) etc also..no oil there. Put her back in the stock and try her out.. Might just work!! got my fangers crossed for ya. Had to do that to one of mine to get it goin:cool:

Good advice Skeet. 9 out of 10 rimfires I work on just need some cleaning and lube.
I use cheap brake cleaner in spray form, from Wal-Mart, after I take the gun apart, alternately spray and use toothbrush to get the crud off. Then compressed air to get at the hard to reach placed like inside of bolt. The lube lightly with a quality gun lube. Keep the spray off the stock it may react with finish. Try this site for parts: http://www.e-gunparts.com/

Yeah its a tube fed semi 22. I don't know about lr or not. My brother in law has it and wants $40 for it. I already dibbed it and he agreed to help me get it working. I still have to get it from him. I think its been cleaned but another cleaning won't hurt, and I'll get some strip experience from it. Will this shoot all the 22's or just lr? I'll get it from him pretty soon and post a pic. He said something about it going through a fire, but I don't have any details. I tried that link, but only found the 87A. I have a exploded veiw of each and I'll compare them. I think I'll have to call them to find what I want. My bro in law thinks the spring may be weak. Anyways, sorry to be longwinded and thanks for your help. I'll update when I get it working. Thank again.
