Since 1958, I have hunted deer and bear with surplus military rifles. In the off season, (i.e. Summer) I enjoy trekking afield with my loyal Golden dawg looking for chucks. In PA, semis are not legal for use on chucks, so I get to use all my bolt and trapdoor arms afield over the Summer. Occasionally, a coyote will come into a newly cut hayfield just at dusk and they give me sport.
Fine arms deserve to go afield often. It also maintains familiarity for the deer woods in Fall.
