Prarie deer season's been on for a week and I finally got out today hunting. Have one week to hunt and I might be able to get out two more times. So when I went out today I told myself if I saw a buck that would go 140 or better I'd take it.
Hiked into an area on the praire with a little canyon. Crawled up to the lip and scoped out across into the fingers of the draw. There were a lot of plum thickets and spotted a deer head amongst one of the thickets. It was a doe, so I looked around the thicket and found this buck. All that was showing that was open was his face and six inches below his chin. I put the cross hairs just under his chin and squeezed one off. Hit about four inches below his chin. Went down and didn't know what hit him.
He's a fair 18 1/2 inch wide buck with a split G1 and both G2's and the end of one main beam is split. You could call it a 7X7 with a few little stickers I guess. Still have another buck and two does to get.
