Our local gun club has a Battle of the Bulge Match every December. I run the match and shoot in it. Shooters bring out various surplus arms and I used a Kar98k last year. This year it will be a Mosin Nagant 91/30. I know that others that are going to use M1 Carbines, U.S. 1917 Enfields and 1903 Springfields. We have a good time and get to use some classic rifles for the day. All the best...

And I thought you were working on your abs. :D

Sounds like a fun shoot.

Hows about selling me one of those Mosins. Those suckers are scarcer than chicken lips up here. The only ones I've seen were really ROUGH. The bores look like they were stored in the North Sea since WW2. Just plain rode hard and put away wet.

I'd like one merely for the historic value. I remember as a child going to the movies and seeing a newsreel shot of the Pres. FDR and Elanor receiving a Russian sniper by the name of Lyudmila Pavlichenko. She was a girl and ended up with over 300 confirmed kills including a double digit figure of German Snipers. At the time I did not recognize all the significance of these actions.

She was actually on leave from the Russian Army because she had been wounded and the Ruskys wanted to make sure she wasn't killed and lost as a PR piece of history.

I remember clearly she was pretty. Quite the opposite of what we saw of Russian women during that time frame. They always showed the 300 pounders with no teeth. Not very complimentary.

There was a match at the Worland, Wyo range last week called the "FROZEN CHOSEN".

Ya gotta shoot firearms of the type certified as used in the Korean war.

The match is put on by Mark Spungin, Pres of the Wyoming State Shooting Association.
