My gunsmith has been very busy and is completing some of my military surplus rifles that have been in his shop for over a year. Last week he finished a 1903 sporter that was rebarreled in .270 Winchester. He called me today to tell me that my 1909 Argentine will be done next week in .280 Remington. The last rifle is another 1903 Springfield that will be a .338-06 and will be completed by the end of July. As soon as I get them, I will post some pictures. All the best...

Gil,
It is good to hear your refitted rifles will finally come home. Your smith does great work; I like how he fitted my .264 WM.

I want to point out that I did not spend much to get these military surplus rifles because all had dark bores and were really cheap. I put Adams & Bennett barrels on them that cost less than $100.00 each. My gunsmith also gives me discounts on his work and to reblue these rifles. All of them together cost me about as much one new rifle. All the best...

Surplus military arms make excellent sporting rifles. Sounds like you got the economics figured out. Take care...
