I bought some used brass in 9mm and 45acp and found some 40 cal brass amongst them. So naturally, like all good reloaders, instead of throwing out the brass I bought a Taurus 40 cal. It made perfect sense to everyone but my wife, even though I used her stock answer of " I saved money because it was on sale". Any one have a load that works well as a starting point? What do you all think of Universal as a handgun powder?

Here is a load that works well for me: 5.7 Gr. of Unique, a Sierra 180 JHP and a WSP Primer. Plenty accurate.

I use Universal with a 165 grn plated bullet in my 40's. My load was in the 5.0-5.1 area, all cycled fine. This is a modest range/plinking load.
