Tattoos....

Remember that its on for life, and its color sometimes fades
They come in many size and shape, from chickens to the ace of spades
It marks you sure for all to see, and sometimes only private
And should you ever put her name, you'll want someday to deny it

Some are nice and some are gory, some are full of sex
Some are red and some are blue, and some seen when you flex
A rooster tail or dark green dragon, one with flames for breath
Unless they cut your arm right off, its with you until death

But some are cool and some are not, and some demand respect
Some are fanciful, some are dreams, and some you'd not expect
A tat is purely personal, and comes sometimes with pain
Just remember for all time due, it won't come off in the rain

Aloha.. Tom

Haha, that reminds me of a tattoo my buddy Redneck has. Its basically Elmer Fudd having sex with a sheep that says, "Proud to be from West Virginia". :p

Yeah, the guy who is doing it owns the most respected tattoo parlor in Alaska. He has been tattooing for over 30 years and usually has a three month (or more) waiting list. I feel confident he will do me right, especially on something simple like that symbol which I am sure will not test his skills in any way, shape or form. :D

Tatto's turn me off. It's bound to offend someone and who does it impress?

I'm not trying to impress anyone, but there are equally as many people who enjoy tattoos as those who are offended by them. I honestly don't know why people take offense to whats on my body. Its all good if someone chooses not to tattoo their own bodies, but to be offended because I chose to is just wrong. It certainly doesn't make me a bad person.

Two weeks til my appointment. :D

Get 'er dun!

Go for it! The day I find a drawing of a shed elk antler that I like I'm headed down to get it put all the way around my arm. Sailfish or Marlin sketch just above it. Make yourself happy. Don't take our option.

^My mother has a tattoo like that. I love western style tattoos like that. I've always thought a rugged cross with a vine or barbed wire armband would look nice as well.

Wahnie, If you are going to do it get an idea and talk to your tatoo artist. They will draw something for you that is one of a kind.---- Much better than something out of a book of flash.

Wahnie 02-22-2007 04:12 PM

Well, I got it last night. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought either.

I think it look great! They obviously did a good job- enjoy!

See how you like it when your 50. How bout 60?

Just not a tattoo guy. Never understood putting something that permanent on my body. Women with tattoos really turn me off. Lots of these young girls nowdays with the "bullseye" on their lower back. Lets let them explain that to their kids and grandkids someday.

Good luck to ya Whanie. Im just afraid you will wish you hadnt done that someday. They dont look nearly as kewl when your skins saggin. Or when you change your life and make it to the boardroom. Gotta make sure you wear long sleeves.

Thats all I got to say about that. ;)

That looks very clean whanie,if you are happy and content with it thats all that matters. To coin an old saying" those that mind don't matter and those that matter, don't mind" someone who would take offense to a tattoo on your own body is a person who I could care less if they were my friend or not. My friends are chosen by "who" they are not by what they look like or how some think they should look like. Now if the tattoo was derogatory to women or people of color,or something that society deems as offensive to the general populus, then I would agree to not having it visible for all to see,but by no means would I shun that individual. Just my 2 cents.....

rickjordan 02-23-2007 08:11 PM

I'm with you Nite Owl- if someone judges me by some ink on me- it is your loss, not mine. Funny how no person has ever told me to stop changing their tire or helping them because I have tats. I also don't ever plan on being in a boardroom- no offense to people who do but I like to think a lot of the people on this site are like me and actually do work for living.
