Hey guys. Thought I'd check back in and see what new ideas you have for me.
Rapier, it won't be by boat. Thank goodness! I'm more scared of drowning than I am of being eaten by a bear. I'll have to go about 10 miles by 4-wheeler from wherever the trucks get left, and cross a river. It's shallow at the crossing spot, he says, so I'll just worry about that when I get there. And anyhow, after that 10 miles is where we make the camp. This place they hunt, they set up camp on the bottom and then they ATV up a ginormous hill and hunt up top. I don't know the correct terminology. Also, did I mention that I've almost never been on a 4-wheeler, ever? I'm not sure how much practicing of that I can do, frankly. I'm a massage therapist. I can't do some dumb thing and break my arm. This is getting pretty intimidating now.
As for long treks, he already said that I'd hunt one day and then sit camp one day, so that seems practical. And about that sidearm, jerseyhunter...he said I can't go pee without taking a sidearm with me, so that's covered. It's 25 miles round trip to a grocery store where I live, but I can load up my backpack and walk to the lake and back for practice. It's all flat, but it will be something.
