Fabs:
If I get to go this coming Fall, I don't see that as a problem. It kind of sounds like I may be in a custody battle for my grandaughter, and I don't have a clue what that will cost me. But what ever it is it'll be worth it.
Keep in touch about it.

Sorry Lilred didn't mean to mess up your thread.

fabsroman 12-28-2006 09:49 PM

GSP,

Sorry to hear about the custody issue. Exactly what it will cost depends on how much the other party can spend. That is what is sick about our legal system. The person with the most money usually wins. I hope everything works out for you.

skeeter@ccia.com 12-30-2006 05:06 AM

Lilred, as I pick myself up off the floor here from LMAO..we need a photo of you whoopin fabs posted in the girlie contest..oh you do have a way with words..

fabsroman 12-30-2006 11:53 AM

No thanks, I don't need a whoopin from Lilred. My brothes and sisters would never let me live it down. Plus, I am not a huge fan of pain.

skeet 12-30-2006 07:06 PM

Lilred

Fabs was alyin. He does too like pain. I heard him tell a waitress in a restaurant that his motto was hurt him, beat him, make him feel cheap!! Course that was afore he was hitched. I think she took him up on the offer later. She had a few tattoos:rolleyes: among other body art:D :D I heard her say she had spurs ...or somthin like that:eek: Allus wonder'd if'n he had eny scars from that night...other than psyco..psico...well you know..in his haid!;)

Well nice dog anyway

fabsroman 01-02-2007 12:56 AM

Skeet,

That must have been about 3 years ago when we went chuck hunting with Petey and the gang, and if I'm not mistaken, it was you telling the waitress that I liked that stuff. Going to dinner with you can be pretty exciting, to say the least. Since I was already dating my wife at the time, I can assure you that nothing happened between that waitress and I. Now, exactly what the two of you did after leaving the restaurant, you and she will only know.

Hey Mon... we aint got no African fish in Hawaii.. We gots our own fish .. that be an Ulua ... aka Jack Crevalle :D :D :D

I suppose that was before you went cruzin hotel street as you had alluded earlier.... ;) ;) :D

Rocky Raab 01-02-2007 09:09 AM

Rattus, I caught quite a few jacks and that fish looks to be far too blocky and deep in the body to be a jack. Unless they are a whole lot different in the Pacific than the Atlantic.

rattus58 01-02-2007 11:12 AM

They are called different things in different places, along pompano.... but some varieties here have very steep forehead and weigh over 100 pounds... and great eating too... cept fer ciguatera.... :(

Aloha...

DogYeller 01-02-2007 04:02 PM

That is an African Pompano. In Hawaii it's called a Kagami Ulua.

johnliester 01-02-2007 05:28 PM

Ok, count me in too. By the way, I'm the folically challenged one on the right! Oh well. Better to be bald and sexy than.............. lol

Actually I guess you're right... you'd have to be a fisherman like my dad to understand all the differences... I do know NOW that there are specific's to the ulua family here in hawaii.... for which I guess the omilu is the most commonly caught. My brother in law actually gaffed an over 100 pounder that was black, as it swam lazily past the the boats in Wailoa River. There still is an argument about whether that was a black ulua or a white ulua, since it was so big, but it was not like yours, which seems longer like the whites, but a very steep blocky body that was really thick and deep.

I guess that the African Models were brought here..... neva mind.... :D :D Pompano... kagami ulua.... well I cannot tell the difference and till I just axed someone about got an education on it... don't make me no fisherman yet tho... so... I DO STAND CORRECTED... an African Fish wit a Japanese name.

I was also formally corrected as to its name... it trevally...

Nice fish... I've speared small papio but never anything like your fish.... Beautiful...

Aloha... Tom
