A good, good, good day!
Today was a GREAT day for me.
My old buds finally got the Space Shuttle launched safely. Notre Dame won again. And the printer's proof copy of my new book arrived. It doesn't get much better than this. |
I spent a good part of my day at the range :D:D:D
Shot my wifeys 270, my TC Renegade Muzzy loader, and my 870 Express(Slugs and 00 Buck) Had a good day myself :) Now for a shower and off to the bar ;) |
Life is good and congrats on the book rocky .
Any day the shuttle launchs safe is good when i watch it on tv i hold my breath. |
Good for you Rocky, Once in a while the stars all line up and things go well. Soak it in.
Happy for the folks at the space shuttle, there's a Minnesota gal in this crew. A good friend of mine is a corporate pilot and is typed into the same plane as a former shuttle pilot and they've got through flight safety together for a couple years. He's learned a bit of the space program and has a whole new respect for it. I don't remember the shuttle pilot's name, but they called him Buzz. A real gentleman from what my friend tells me. I'll get me a copy of the book this winter, but I can't help spread the cheer about Notre Dame. When are they going to join the Big Ten  |
Good for you guy, isnt it great when a plan comes together?????congrats on all...
|
Rocky, did you get a check in the mail that day too?....that would have made your good day a perfect one....have many more will ya

No, got a check the day before, though. So it was almost a four-way deal.
I'll spend the next coupld days marking up the book (WHY don't those little errors show up on screen, but leap out off the printed page?) and then start the print run. Here's the cover... |
Congrats on the book Rocky....I need to write me one of those...name it "Lilred goes Postal"
|
Sounds like a darn good day. Good launch, good game (as long as you're not a Penn State fan, LOL), good news on the book. The Irish are looking tough again this year, possibly a rematch of the last Fiesta Bowl in the works?

Kudus to Rocky, good job & Congrats, 'bout time you had a little luck on your side lately, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Cessnas etc
Hey Rocky...I've seen one of those planes...somewhere and somewhen...Hey what are those non standard parts hanging off the wings of that Cessna??  :D

Congrats Rocky. May you sell thousands and thousands of copies.
I haven't been around here for a spell, things have been nuts in my world. Larry |
The pre-bookstore version is now available at THIS LINK
I hope to have it listed at Amazon, B&N, Borders, etc in a month or so. |

buy the way rocky, did you ever stop in at phu cat for fuel and a reload in '67 or '68? it was my load crews and i's honor to load that aircraft with rockets and send it off on it's way. gave it the whole schmear, stray volt check and all. and loaded it up with rockets. we weren't used to working on prop jobs. sure gave them a wide birth. we were all flabbergasted at that aircraft. what a neat little machine. |
Nope, never did. I was there in '71. For a while I was stationed at LZ English, just up Hwy One and through the Bong Son pass from Phu Cat.

I will probably be ordering the book tonight Rocky, I enjoyed the first one, and am looking forward to this one.. hope I can get your John Henry on this one as well!

Great to hear your book is out! Oh..and all the other stuff is good, too but I've been jonesin' to read more about El. Tee. Naille!
Just placed an order. |
Hey, Rocky, are you still defying gravity in a machine that weighs as much as a dump truck?
If you are, and you have your own plane, you may want to check out some of the products put out by Sandia Aerospace. They make a fine product and they have a really *hot* office manager who I get to share my bed with! The owner, Dennis Schmidt, is a great, hilarious guy who really knows his stuff and *will not* put out a product unless he is willing to put it in his own plane. Mr. Schmidt was showing me a proto-type of an on-board wind calculator that had a built-in cooling fan. Jokingly, I asked if the fan was to help keep the pilot cool. Seriously, he answered, "No. What keeps the pilot cool is the propeller at the nose of the plane. And if you don't believe me, watch how much he starts sweating if that propeller stops working." If you go the the Air Show in Osh Kosh, WI next year, take a look at some of their products. They're innovative and well worth adding to your inventory. Garmin (GPS) and The National Weather Service have contracts with Sandia Aerospace for a couple of their products... ...Do you think I might get an advertising bonus check from Sandia for ths post? |
