Got a wolf on my moose hunt!
I got this wolf after it crossed the road in front of me and it decided the wrong side of the ridge was a good escape route. It weighed about 90 lbs. At 125 yards on the run I hit it with the first shot, free hand.
Please edit the picture down if it is too big. |
Lets try the picture again!

Waidmannsheil Blktail, great shooting. Get the hide tanned, then you'll have something to remember that Moose hunt!! Dom.

What did ya shoot him with?
|
godd job, and a blackie.

Model 70
You will be happy to know I got him with my Pre 64 Model 70 30.06 featherlight. Believe it or not - it took a couple to stop him. None were great shots, but they were all deadly. Tough animal. As hard to kill as a bear. |
Nice gun I hear;) , lol.
|
Neat looking wolf! Are the black color phases hard to come by up there, or is it a regular occurence? Congrats on a great hunt!

I have shot a couple wolves in the north central part of the province and have noticed a high percentage of blacks
