oh yeah congrats to you too tree doc
kt
was funny i drove by an amusement park on the highway the other day and had a neck banded canada goose cross right in front of me , do you know how bad i wanted to plow him?

fabsroman 01-13-2005 12:56 AM

That goose would have been dead. My cousin once drove off road to kill a measly pheasant, I am sure that I would wreck the car trying to get that goose. Of course, people would be wondering why the mount was a little flat and had Goodyear across the chest.

All kidding aside, congratulations TreeDoc. Next time, look for the birds with the green band. They are worth $100.

Crongats guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now the fun part, finding out about your bird. To me that was just as exciting as getting the jewelry.

Eider 01-14-2005 02:51 PM

congrats

congrats on your first banded duck. I have only shot one banded duck but I hope I will shoot many more and hopefull you do too.

fabsroman 01-14-2005 03:42 PM

Eider,

Since this is your first post, I will give you a warm welcome to the board. The rest of these guys can be pretty tough. LOL

Hope you have as much fun and gain as much knowledge as I do on this board, but once these guys warm up to you, your ribs will be sore from all the ribbing.

By the way, please do not tell me that you shoot a Browning.

Eider 01-14-2005 05:45 PM

by the way fabs i do shoot a browning lol and i love it. But I also shoot a benelli and a remington 870

DelDuck 01-15-2005 07:29 AM

Welcome to the board Eider. You can't be all bad, 2 out of the 3 guns you shoot are good;) :D

skeet 01-15-2005 08:22 AM

Welcome Eider

Don't let these guys mess with ya too much..and at least ya do shoot one decent gun...the 870 of course. That there Browning is junk and the Benelli ain't far behind...course with a little coaxing...I could maybe save ya from yourself and stoop so low as to help ya get rid of those two junkers ya got..Don't wanna embarass ya none tho! So don't tell anybody else....:D Shot lotsa banded birds. Even got a banded dove one time...tiny little thing

DelDuck 01-15-2005 09:26 AM

I thought the band on a teal was small, man the band on that dove must have been itybity.
I chased a banded beach buzzard down the beach one day in my truck. If i coulda hit him i woulda:D Was the 1st and only banded seagul I have ever seen.

fabsroman 01-15-2005 12:01 PM

On the opposite spectrum, a friend got a band off a dead pelican and that thing is huge. It is so big that he gets a neck ache from having it on his lanyard.

Eider,

I will agree with Del, the Benelli and the 870 are great guns and in exactly that order. The Browning on the other hand, well, that is a long story. By the way, don't listen to Skeet about the Benelli because he wants to get it from you cheap.

TreeDoc 01-15-2005 12:29 PM

2 Benelli SBE's became single shot Boat Anchors at my club last week. :o

fabsroman 01-15-2005 04:42 PM

Who tried to clean them, broke them, and won't fess up to what they did?

Eider 01-16-2005 07:34 AM

I also shot a banded pigeon in my back yard once. oops!

mtmiller 02-17-2005 04:12 PM
