Quiet arrow rest?

Hey all. My plan next year is to hunt all year with my bow, which means hunting in the colder weather. This year, I used a Whisker biscuit for the first time and liked it, however, when it got cold, the whisker biscuit sounded loud to me as I drew my arrows.

Can anyone recommend a quiet arrow rest? I would like one where maybe I could put some mole skin or something on the rest in the cold so when I draw, it is silent. I just thought of doing that, not sure if anyone does that. Thanks all.

I use a NAP drop away. I believe it is the quik tune 4000 (memory??). It has worked great for me so far. Very quiet draw, arrow stays on well before draw. When it drops away, there is no contact with your arrow. Tuned very easy also.

thanks Lone, I will check it out

I use a Trophy Ridge Drop Zone.
I just put it on this fall and really like it.

Thanks for the feedback Rim---I am thinking of the drop away rests myself...

I use the Trophy Taker drop away - it is the simplest design out there.

but, I also bought some teflon dip from Cabelas (manf. by Cir Cut). I dipped the prongs in the teflon and now my arrows slide like snot on a porcelin doorknob. And just as quiet, too. :)

That teflon dip sounds interesting to silence the rest. I will check it out....thanks TS

I still use the old mole skin on the rest forks. Then again I still shoot 2117 easton alum arrows also.

Hey guys i bought a bow this year that was rigged up with a plastic rest and am regreting not covering it. I had a really big 8 point that i'd been huntin all year that was 10 yards away from me. I started to draw and he heard the arrow slide on that plastic and ran off. So when i got home i put some mole skin on and it's now silent as can be.

ts--those plastic rests can be loud as heck in the cold weather or on days with no wind....dang it I am sorry that happened to you...cover that baby with mole skin.

I must tell you about the teflon -

I have to replace it about once a year - it wears down. It comes off easy and the one great advantage of it over mole skin - it's not sticky.

I always carry backup mole skin. On my last hunt, I threw a few practice arrows only to realize my teflon was worn down. After I got home, off came the mole skin before it got sticky. On went the teflon.
