Calling in Deer?

I was just wundering if anybody has any luck on grunting to bucks or just calling them into your area. When is the best time to call and how often should i try? Thanks for the help.

Depending on where you live, right now is a good time to give it a try.
I called a spike in this evening with the can and a grunt

When I hunted Kodiak Island every fall I'd occasionally call in deer with a dying rabbit varmint call. It was highly effective, some deer coming to within 10 yards of the caller. Never did get a brownie in, but I was always watchfull for that.

This can be a great time to call for bucks g the pre-rut and rut period. Don't overdue it though. You may want to pick up a doe can too and through in a few doe bleats with a couple of tending grunt calls to bring a big boy to check the situation out and challenge a potential rival!;)

I think has long as it is done sparringly, you'll never hurt your chances. It may not help always either.;)
Bottom line to me is, the deer has to be close enough to hear it, and curious enough to come over.
