Meplat trimming
 

Anyone tried the various bullet tip trimmers on the market, and does it help your group? I have always looked at the sierra matchkings and wondered if it would make an accuracy difference.

It makes a difference as far as accuracy goes. A lot of shots has to be fired to see the difference.

The most noticable difference is the drop in BC drops Makes a big difference in drop out towards 1K and beyond.

10-4, roger wilco and out on that. at short range i wouldn't expect that much difference but at around 600 and beyond i think you would see a measureable difference.

I have trimmed them for 1000 yard BR....And to tell the truth...My groups got bigger.Might have been the lower BC???But I don't know...IMHO its not worth the time or trouble.
