Anybody Camping?

Is anyone camping these days or is it too cold, too much snow, can't see the camper?:p I'm headed out today for a one nighter in west Tennessee.

It's too cold and snowy here.

Unless you define camping as living in a deluxe motorcoach, I'm probably not going this time of year.

Is there any other way to camp? Satellite to watch the race, ice marker for the cold adult beverges and a TV in both the bedroom and the living area. I'm not talking about a tent or a pop-up. It's way too cold for that.:D

Where I am it's too cold for deluxe motor homes. Couldn't keep the water from freezing, and the motor won't start in the morning unless you can plug in the block heater.

Truth is, there are people who enjoy winter camping. One of my hunting partners has a son who spent new years eve sleeping with his girlfriend in a quinzee. Got to about -28 that night. They thought it was fun. Not for old folks like me, however.

Because I'm in the business fall, winter and spring are my camping times. Summer I'm too busy and frankly, it too hot in Tennessee to camp. I have a friend who owns a dealership in Calgary and sells more pop-ups than we do here in Tennessee. Aparrently, they love them up there.

Pop-up campers always seemed like neither fish nor fowl to me. They weren't quite tents and they weren't quite motorhomes. We used a pop-up a few times when I was a kid. I didn't really like it. Either use a tent or go deluxe.

Nowdays I usually vote for deluxe. I want to watch television and drink my adult beverages in comfort.

Plus showers that you don't have to walk to are always a plus.

Not to mention youknow who slept in your bed and who used your bathroom last... That's why I don't do hotels unless it's a last resort. No pun intended.

There is something to be said for that as well.

Plus, there are motorhomes, excuse me motorcoaches, that are nicer than my home.

My Dad has a friend who has a business that insures those motorcoaches. Some of those things are massive and insanely nice.

When the Weather gets real bad here in Indiana. Like the 12 inch snowfall yesterday. I retrive the camping equpment from the garage.

I set up the tent, camp mattress, sleeping bags, Dc lantrens, flashlights, camp kitchen, and set it up.

In the livingroom of the house of course.

those kids love to pretend there outside camping and i get a chance to fix up any problems and orginize so its ready in the spring. Plus the unused extra X-mas batteries can go in the flashlights.

If the camper fully self contained then normally you can four season it. A good 4 season tent will keep you alive in the worst of camping winter conditions but it is not comfortable.
