Am looking for a new turkey gun

I'm building up some Cabela's points and may be able to finally get a semi-auto shotgun closer to Spring.
Anyone shooting a Mossberg 930 or 935 Magnum turkey gun? They look like sharp guns. Price seems good too. Hope to fondle each one in the near future.
I checked out the 11-87 Ultramag http://www.remington.com/products/fi..._thumbhole.asp
but Skeet steered me away from them.
Looked at Benelli but the price is more than I want to spend for a gun that's going to get camo'd up and beat on. Nice guns though.
I remembered seeing the Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag tactical turkey and that collapsible stock and pistol grip were just what I was looking for. http://www.mossberg.com/products/def...ction=products
Being able to adjust the length of stock for winter clothes or a summer t-shirt is great.
The 930 or 935 Magnum Turkey gun in mossy oak new-breakup camo looks like just the ticket. But I can't find one with the pistol grip configuration.

I plan on using this gun for predators and turkeys and will be mounting a reddot on top. Hope the receiver is drilled already.
Do I need 3.5" capability? I have no idea what the ammo selection is like for it.
Might be helpful in anchoring a coyote at 40 or 50 yards.
I noticed the 935 may not take 2.75" shells. That would be disappointing cause I sometimes use the 12ga for bunnies.
That's a lot of questions and I want to do some research before making a move.
thanks.

Guns

Skinny.. I really don't think you need a 3 1/2 inch gun. I mean you'll only shoot a max of 35-40 yds anyway. Consider a Benelli M1 super 90 Some come already camoed and they are reliable guns. I use a Benelli SBE for waterfowl...but it is black..and I don't think I need to worry about a camo gun anyway...just get a black one. Lots of choices out there and think you will be happy with the mossybergs too..Check out some of the hunting forums that are slanted towards turkey hunting. They'll tell ya what really works...at least most of the time:D

That M1 goes for about a grand. If I could, I'd get the SBE II turkey. http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/turkeyguns.tpl
Maybe I should wait for more points to accumulate? :p

This will raise some eyebrows but I use a Reminton 870 youth in a 3" 20 ga and get all the turkeys I need .

Hi Nulle. Doesn't raise mine and thats great.
I've been using an 870 express for all these years and want something different to enjoy while I can still go out and hunt.

I've used an 870 on every turkey I have shot but 2, and used a 22.250 on them. I think what ever works for you.

try to find a stevens 10 gauge longtom side by side. I see them every once in awhile at gun shows and shops for not all that much, and thataway with that barrel length you are halfway there. If not then I suggest a hastings metro barrel extension. What could go wrong with screwing another 32" of barrel into your choke tube threads :p And again it will put you halway to the bird.

Seriously though I like the looks of the turkey tacticle and agree with you reasoning about the stock.

my 2 cents.
