Locked Horns
A local fisher man found these bucks last week floating in a lake at one of the local state parks. The local paper reports that the smaller of the two will score 140 and the larger one will make B&C. Plans are to have the two mounted as found and displayed at the park. BTW the state of Indiana conducts deer reduction hunts in select parks due to overpopulation. These deer were found less than a week before the first hunt and only 3 weeks before MY hunt.[IMG]IMG]http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b396/Indyhntr/MVC-002F.jpg[/IMG][/IMG]

Did they saw which park those where found in?
I did the Spring mill state park hunt last monday and tuesday, and did get two freezer deer, but to be honest it was a hard wet monday and a less than fruitful tuesday. I ended up almost hunting them like rabbits alot of jump shooting the real thick places as those deer were not moving around much. Those deer look like chain of lakes state park deer. Nice north-central Indiana deer. |
Excellent guess:D they are in fact from Chain O' Lakes. Next Monday will be the 4th time I've hunted the park. I drew the Ft. Harrison bow hunt last year, but after arguing with some damn dumb woman on horseback about whether I could be off the marked trails during a scouting trip I said to heck with it. I'd rather stay close to home and hunt C.O.L. or Pokagon.

Nice bucks! Tough breaks, but that's nature...
