Monster KS Buck

Probably the wrong forum, but wanted to share this with all of you.

My buddy from vet school and I met in Kansas this year for the rifle deer season. He brought along a friend from Ohio. On opening morning, 15 minutes after sunrise, on public ground, my friend shot a real nice 5 x 5 that had several extra kickers on each side. Within a half hour his buddy hunting the same area saw this monster. I was able to watch briefly through my binoculars just as his friend shot him. The green score is pending but the taxidermist is confident it will score well. We're hoping it will make the top 20 all time list for KS nontypical white tail!

Boy he's sure got those antlers shined up purty and look at the size of the bases, they must be close tom 5" in diameter.

You guys done good.

Best wishes, Bill

So....being a Vet and all, did you feel the need to administer CPR after the shot?

:D

Nice Buck! ;)

What part of Ks were you hunting in.\? Looks like somewhere in the Southeast connor.

By the time I or my class mate got down to the deer it was beyond CPR!

We were hunting in NE KS.

I have been waiting for someone else to ask this question, but no one has so here it is.

What kind of injury did he have to his LEFT side?

I followed a Muley this fall with similar garbage on his left side and he limped on the right. This condition is quite common. Found a 3 footed Elk a few years ago that was a mess. Unfortunately someone shot him opening morning before we could some close pictures.

I wasn't worried about performing CPR on the deer, but my friend who shot him was close to needing some:D .

The successful hunter is 6'1" tall and about 180 pounds. Thankfully, whitetails aren't known to be carnivorous.:D

Mucho Grande Venado.......again, my congrats!

The buck scored 206 7/8 B&C points. Unfortunately, the loss of left G1 probably cost 15-20 inches, and the loss of unknown measurable inches from the tine crossing the face and two other kickers cost the buck his listing on the Kansas Top 20 Non-typical list.

But, still a buck of a lifetime and one with unmatchable character. The hunter is still smiling from ear to ear.
