Help....please
I just replace the batteries in my GPS and noticed corrosion. How do I clean it without ruining my GPS? The corrosion isn't terrible but it's enough. Help?

Baking soda and vinegar in minute amounts. You can even mix it as a paste and put it on immediately though that doesn't always work as well. You certainly don't want to just dump a bunch in there as it would ruin the device. My advice is go slow and remove a little at a time.

Baking Soda and water work well. When all the cruddy stuff comes off dry with a Q Tip.
If you can't remove all the corrosion use nail file boards, or sometimes a pencil eraser will shine the metal up. Also invest in some corrosion inhibitor. Dats about all I got pardner. Best wishes, Bill One other thing, change battery brands. Ya might be able to get a new GPS if ya sue the company that manufactured the batteries, but I doubt it. |
