Trying to find the age of bow
 

Well through a friend I have a acquired a new to me bow. What can I say the price was right, it was a gift, with instructions that after I've used it for awhile and decided what bow to go to next to pass it along to someone new and get them started in archery.

This bow is a Hoyt Raider, 55-70 lbs. w/26"-29" draw. The string is 36"lg and attached to the cable ends with teardrops. The wheels are the small cams. This is very simular to the Hoyt Specter 5000 that I first fell in love with as the compound bow that I wanted way back when.

I like this bow, it draws easily at 55 lbs and is very quiet. It dose not feel like its very heavy either.

If you know anything about when Hoyt made this bow, please let me know.

Thats alright I think I found a reference to the Hoyt Raider on the Hoyt web site. If I didn't misinterpret the information the Hoyt Raider was made between 1998 and 1999, if thats the case I got one thats a whole lot new than I thought.

I don't really care because it shoots so good its scary.

I've got one of those oldies although mine I believe was manufactured in 01 or so howevern not really sure. Its a Jennings Buckmaster with a weird cable guard. About 39" long. Believe the draw weight runs between 50 -60 lbs with a 70% let off.

Have it set a 55 lbs and it shoots just fine. What I like about it is I can pull it back smoothly not the current batch of new bows which you have to be a baby gorilla to pull them. Works for me

Don't know if this will help or not but here it is with a shot of one of the groups I've shot with it. Since this photo was taken of the bow I've changed the sight to a Tru-Glo and added a d-loop to the nocking point for use with a wrist release.

The only arrow that was out of the group had a torn vane that I did not notice until I released it to go down range.

Still trying to do better.
