Your favorite present this Christmas?

My favorite present this year is a 7'0" Shakespeare ugly stick medium action lite pro carbon fiber fishing pole. My wife, bless her, has been listing to my mumblings about how much fishing I used to do and has decided to get me started back towards the old fishing holes.... It isn't the material rod that means so much, but the fact that she really does want me to be the happier more relaxed person I used to be.

The 7mm I bought for myself is pretty sweet but my favorite thing was to be able to surprise the hell outta my cousin in Billings :D

My son (pleasantly) surprised me with a new CZ Ultra Lux .22 LR bolt action. That was obviously my favorite. Now if the weather would just improve and some of this snow melt I'll take it to the range and sight it in.

GOB,

Just before Christmas I came across a Savage Tactical bolt gun in .25-06. I got some RCBS dies and brass and worked up some loads. Yesterday I fired 10 rounds into .625" at 100 yards. I named the rifle "Tora Bora" and she is a keeper.

My "stocking gift" was a Colt M1903 .32 caliber pistol in Very Good+ condition.

Happy New Year.

A $300 bow case. Awe, just a little too much. Returned it and bought another bow case for about 1/6 of the money. She will never learn but bless her sole she tries and I just thank her.

You older guys might appreciate this, my Dual turntable has a problem and I can not get the hum it developed to go away. So my wife asked what I wanted and I told her one of those new Sony turntables that converts vinyl to MP3s and also hooks up to the Amp and plays vinyl as a regular turntable. So that is what I had under the tree, along with a new conversion software program that can be set to one db level for all records as they are recorded, to escape the loud to soft recordings plus it will remove pops and crackles. We shall see if the collection that fills four wall cabinets is still worth a listen or not. I am really interested to see what happens with all the 45s.

Well I got the gift of life..or so the doc told me from my trip back east... 2 days 'fore Christmas he called and said things look ok and I shouldn't have to see him for a year this time. Those 6 month visits are a bit worrisome

I have been wanting one of those too. I'd sure like to know how yours works out.

Didn't really exchange gifts this year....wife & I decided that if we want something, we just buy it during the year. However, the best gift that I gave to someone else was a case of 20 gauge shotgun shells that I got for a buddy so that he can go skeet shooting with me this summer.

I have basically NOT done the "Christmas Thing" for the last few years - it has simply become too commercialized.

But this year Mom sent me her coin collection that she had been working on for years. Not a whole lot of monetary value, but I do appreciate it. I think, being in her seventies and ailing, she is feeling mortality creeping up.

I had also mentioned being interested in 'gluten-free' cooking, as my best friend has Ciliac Disease, and I recognise the benefits of that particular cooking style. His wife has gotten really good at it.
So Mom sent me a Gluten-free Cookbook! Mom's birthday is coming up very soon - I'll do right by her.

Well last year I got shorted and went out and got myself a boat. The other half looked at it and said "Great looks big enough for you to live in" .
