Mounting question with cheesy diagram

Can you do a mounting like this with rifles under .243? I was thinking this as I ordered my $90 mount for my AR.Attachment 7892

Told you it was cheesy.

No sure but this looks a little cheesy to me. I wouldn't do it. Suspect zero would change plus bumpt the bell end of the scope would cause problems.

Jon, you wouldn't be the first person to ever do it.
I suspect the rings being so far back might increase the chance of the scope being knocked out of zero if the objective bell gets whacked, but, maybe not, too. . .

It'll work but leaves an awful lot to be desired. I would not do it.. They make extension mounts etc

I wouldn't do it I already ordered the cantilever mounts. But just wondering if you could.

jon lynn,

I thought this was a sex therapy question! LOL.

As for scopes, I would get a longer RAIL or cantilevered rings to get support on both sides of the adjustments.
