smoothbore & shot question
 

For those of you who shoot birdshot out of your smooth bores:

Do you dump your shot directly on top of the fiber wad, or do you put a cardboard wad on top of the fiber wad prior to dropping your shot?

Mr. 16 gauge,

In the Smoothbore .50 Hawken, I just put a wonderwad on top of the powder, drop the shot and run down another wonderwad to hold the shot in place.

In the 12 Gauge single Armas barrel, I put a fiber wad on top of the powder, run down a plastic shotcup/wad combo , drop the shot and put down another fiber wad.
