I hunted about 200 yards from a horse barn with a metal roof ONCE and I can tell you that BB's made it that far and sounded pretty loud on that metal roof. The reason I said ONCE was because the landownder came storming out of the barn and he wasn't too happy with us. Since then, I haven't hunted that farm with my buddy. He had the permission to hunt it and I don't know if he lost it because of that incident. I also don't know who it was that made that shot, but the blind was lined up that way and that was the way the geese were coming in.

Nevada Jim once told me that Hevi-Shot could put an eye out and still break skin at 100 yards. That would probably make it to 300 yards easily. I also hunt next to a rode that is less than 200 yards away and I never worry about shooting that way as long as the shot is high in the air. Even if a pellet or two hit a car, the driver would probably not have a clue as to what it was and it wouldn't likely do any damage. At least I hope.
