I am certain the game commission is on a money kick. 21 bucks for the extra turkey tag for residents and $41 for non-residents. Seems like alot of money to me. Why wouldn't the WTF back them. They are about conservation and the turkeys hunters promote habitat regrowth and regeneration of the turkey population. The feel that if they get their own tag that it'll keep the everyday Tom, Dick or Vern Ross out of the woods so the select few can enjoy THEIR sport.
The catch is that even in the PGC announcement they stated that the funds could go toward habitat improvement NOT THAT IT WILL. If the NWTF is backing this proposal I just wonder what organization is backing the deer management plan. The National Timber Growers.
