I've messed around shooting both graphite and aluminum arrows and found that at 20 yards they pretty much hit in the same spot.
The reason for this is that the larger diameter of the aluminum shaft sits higher in the rest, giving it a higher launch angle.
Past 30 yards, then the heavier aluminum arrow drops more.
This doesn't happen with all set ups. The design of the launcher arms will make the difference - not all launcher arms will hold the a larger diameter shaft higher.
