That's like asking why your wife wants so many shoes, or so many nice dresses. There doesn't need to be a reason, you just like variety. People ask me all the time why I want a new handgun for self defense, if I already have one, or a new Deer rifle, since I already got a gun to kill deer with. Well, I ask them why they need more than one shirt to go with a certain pair of pants. Of course, to them "that's different" but they can never explain how. There's nothing wrong with collecting things you like. My mom has a whole house full of antiques, and I'm sure the amount of money spent on them far surpasses what I've spent on guns. There also are some redundant items, but I don't think there's anything wrong with it. That's what she likes.
Oh, and ds is right, too. We all suffer from newshititis.
