As I understand it, the guy from Atlanta was not out on bail. He was having his handcuffs removed when he overpowered the female deputy and took her gun from her. As far as I am concerned, this entire incident was the result of an idiot criminal and very poor security. At the jail for his new hearing today, they had 19 deputies to secure the area. Come on now, do they really need 19 deputies standing around.
