If you like your Omega more than your .308, I think you should be posting in the rifles forum about who makes a good .308 and then look into buying one.

I prefer my rifles over my muzzleloader any day for the killing of deer. Now, that is because I am only interested in killing deer. There are people out there that will not use a rifle because they prefer the sport of bow hunting or muzzleloading, and if that is the case, I say fine. However, if a person is in it just for the meat, I am sure they would take an accurate rifle over a muzzleloader any time of the day. This past season, I dropped two deer at 250 yards with my .300 Win Mag, and the shots were one after another as the deer jumped a creek and paused on the other side. First one jumped and I shot it, worked the bolt, and the other jumped and I shot it. Not only is a 250 yard shot tough with a muzzleloader, but two shots in that amount of time is physically impossible unless you are using two muzzleloaders.

As far as muzzleloaders are concerned, I am currently using a T/C Black Diamond and I like it plenty. However, if I were in the market for a new muzzleloader, it would definitely be the T/C Encore. Haven't actually shot that gun yet, but I like the way it looks and the options it provides. Obviously, I would have to shoulder it before I bought it, but something tells me that it would probably feel pretty good.
