I was on the load standerization team. Worked on 100's mostly. My home base was Bien Hoa but went TDY to Pleiku, Cam Ran Bay, Phang Rang, and Takli (sp) Thailand for training (arm and dearm) F-4's, 106's, etc. I extended an extra 6 months in country so that I would have less than a year when I returned to the States. That made a total of 18 months in country and one free 30 day leave. Alot of the guys with more than a year left after Viet Nam got orders for Thailand. I did'nt want to take the chance so with 11 months left they sent me to Kincheloe in upper Michigan. From TAC to SAC (sac sucks
) Then in their infinite wisdon the USAF put me on the load standerization team for 52's. Three years on fighters and they stick me on bombers and a instructor to boot. Anyhow I stayed in for 4 years made staff about 6 months before I got out. All my buddies called me "Lifer". Went back to college on the G.I.Bill and got a bachlors in Business Administration and have been selling real estate for 26 years.
