Cougars have killed 13 sheep out in the agricultural suburb Metchosin, near Victoria. CO's believe it is at least 2 cougars, maybe a female and young one. They have seen 2 sizes of tracks and some of the sheep have had the wool pulled off the skin, a sign of an immature cat.
CO's have been trying to track them with hounds, but the cats can't seem to be caught. Conditions are good for tracking too.
A local radio station has a poll going and the votes are 80% against sending hunters out to shoot them. (I'll bet the 80% live in the city or have no children or livestock.)
I'll post any news on the subject.
