I think the reaction by the family was very normal in that media clip for what happened.
We're talking about a 91 year old man here. This is the biggest event in his life for quite some time. I'd compare it to a nursing home. You walk in and elderly people are smiling and their children visiting are smiling (sort of...you know what I mean) because of their parents and how they feel at the time. I think the same thing applied here.
