I'm confused here. There is a 3.5" difference in barrel length, and a 140 fps difference in velocity; that's 40 fps/inch loss, pretty close to standard for the '06 IME. That factory ammo is pretty right on in the M700, losing a theoretical 26 fps for 2" of barrel length, theoretical because we don't know the actual velocity in a 24" barrel.
Using the standard Remington rule of thumb of 20 fps/inch for 2500-3000 fps loads, you'd come up with 2660 fps out of the M700 and 2590 fps out of the M760. Pretty darned close it seems to me.
