fabs i appreciate the info and well i wanted to get away from the z type rings - well i say that not even knowing really what the z part is - they would mount on a weaver base the ones that i do have - well i wanted to use something more solid like leupold or even ruger - man i love the ruger type mount but this is going on a remington 40X 22-250 and right now it has leupold bases and dual dovetail rings and they work great and i would like to go with something like that except use the 30mm rings with the inserts - i havent looked at the chart you sent me yet but if they offer rings that will work like leupold's does but still use the rings with the inserts then that is sort of what i would like unless someone else suggest something else - i just hate the thought of the weaver slide rail type thing and the rings with the screw on the side - man those sure are some small screws and there is only one per mount lol but i have never really looked at bases and rings much especially for a 30mm - not that this gun is going benchrest shooting but i sure would like to make it as solid as possible short of welding them on lol
