I mispoke. It isn't the Zee rings that have the rubber insert, but the Burris Signature series of rings, which the Zee (i.e., Weaver style) rings come in. You can get a pair of Burris Signature Dovetail rings that will pop right into your Leupold base that you have on the gun right now. However, the 30mm Signature Dovetail rings only come in matte.

If most of my high power rifles weren't Ruger Mk II's, I would switch everything else to the Burris Signature series rings. I am thinking about getting an AR-10 and you can bet that it will have Burris Signature rings on it if they are compatable with the scope base.
