I mounted a 60mm bell on a standard contour barreled model 70 and had to use the extra high zee rings. The "high" one's weren't even close to clearing.

This was on a 7STW that would absolutley eat scope mounts. The combination of the heavy scope and sharp, quick recoil actually broke two sets of Leopold STD rings (the rear rings are held on by side screw pressure only). I started out with the Signature Zee rings but they let the scope slip under recoil. I eventually lapped in some regular 30mm Zee rings and used Skotch Kote to add some grip. I don't foresee you having this much trouble with your caliber. The zee rings are rock solid, but I did make sure I used the all steel weaver style bases. Warne, Weaver (Grand Slams) and Nightforce all make decent all steel offerrings if you don't go the dual dovetail route.

Be sure to check your maximum elevation adjustment when you first mount the scope. When you get into big bells and high scopes you may not be able to use your target knobs out to longer ranges to adjust for bullet drop. In that case, you need to use bases with a slight down angle (usually 20moa) and those aren't easy to find in dovetail configuration.
