To me it sounds like that the angle was very steep and you used the wrong pin.

When you have a 60d or better angel to nearly straight down, the right pin to use might not even be in your bow.

You might have to set up a target at 15yrds and set up a stand with a steep angle shot to see where your bow is hitting.
