Stay to the eastern part of the state fer does. The mtns have less deer(with the exception of Bedford I hear they are ate up with deer) but they have big bucks that roam them mtns. However, the gun season is only 2 weeks long vs. our 2 month gun season. And we do have plenty of big bucks here.
We also have more doe days in the eastern part of the state.
We do have many seasons that overlap. From Nov-Dec you can hunt elk (use yer deer tags), turkey, bear, bobcat, fox and the just bout everything else. There is also alot of state land & wma's to hunt. Some have cabins you can rent and/or facilities.

It'll also tell you where all of the public lands are and which has facilities and cabins. Here, there is 3 kinds of public lands: National, State and WMA's which are mostly operated by the counties they are in.
