You can be in timbucktoo and find ammo. Put a good 180 grainer in the boiler room of most any medium sized large game animal and you got steak and eggs for breakfast.
In addition to bolt action, pump action, semi-autos, and single shot break opens, I've also seen the '06 in lever action. If I'm not mistaken it was a Winchester Model 98.
