False points
Hello, greetings from north central Florida. This quail haven is no more due to pasture grass, pine trees, cattle egrets, coyotes and developement. My Dad was an avid quail hunter and dog trainer from 1920's till 1970, (game warden for 15 years). He would take three or four dogs into field and give hold command and they would lock up and honor each other's point, (sometimes for as much as two minutes, for pictures). they would look back and forth at each other, when he said hold, that's what he meant and they knew it). I tried to train dogs from his teachings, but didn't do very well, (he said I had to be smarter than the dog to be good at it, heh, heh).
My walking days are almost over, so I'm reliving thru your posts when I have time to read them. I am able to do a little dove hunting this season and thought your wirehair, ( Mr. Hofts) would be a real asset and a hoot in a dove field, you'd save on shells and have everyone chasing him. He should belong to a dove hunter and not a house pet, you should still take him hunting once in a while, (just kidding). Thanks for listening to an old man's thoughts.
My hobby is model 11 Remingtons, ( cant afford A-5's), rebuild, shoot, clean and (fondle them, what else? I'm 71).
I need a butt stock for a twenty, can I slip this in?
