Oh boy, you should know that Skeet and I both detest Browning, and the Winchester X2 is the same gun without the bells and whistles.
Now, that doesn't mean that a lot of people don't like those guns. I think MT Pockets bought the Winchester and he really likes it. The Benelli SBE II is supposed to dampen the recoil a significant amount, but I have yet to shoot it (i.e., cannot justify buying one when I have a SBE I).
At the end of the day, I am the type of guy that will wait until I can afford to buy the best, instead of settling for second best. If you cannot afford the Benelli this year, how about next season? Is there a specific reason why you need a new shotgun this season, which is about half over anyway?
