I'm all for shooting teams and would volunteer to help if I could. I really don't know if the public school environment is the best place for it though. Too much red tape, with zero tolerence and all. If a participant would happen to forget his cased, locked firearm in his trunk and park in the school lot, he could get expelled.

Don't get me wrong, I think that shooting teams for youth are a great idea, I do think that there may be a better sponsor for the kids than the public school system though, such as private leagues or Sportsmen's Clubs.

I help with the firearms safety instruction in my hometown and we do hold it in the school. We're fortunate because the administration allows us to use their facilities but all of that could go away in a hurry if the wrong person complained to the school board. It's perfectly legal, but it's not worth the hassle & headaches.

A lot of the Firearms Safety classes are now being held at church basements, less government regulation and more common sense.
