I bought my STW in a Savage 116 weather warrior, one of the last ones chambered for it. The following year they changed to the RUM. Then they dropped that to.
I went with the STW because I don't reload and had more ammo selection than the RUM.
That was 4 years ago and I still have more ammo choices than the RUM.
No it's not cheap to shoot but it fits a specific spot in the cabinet and in the stand. My STW shoots excellent groups with every load I've tried Federal's, Rem and Winchesters.
Standard go to load today is the Win. Super X 150 gr PP, holds inch groups without too much effort and it happens to be cheaper, about 24.00 a box.
I want to try the new Federal 160 Accubond next.
People claimed it would die some time ago, it's still going and they are making a nice variety of ammo for it.
No it's not a 30-06 (for variety) but it works for me.
