I am in good company with rem700, Gil and Billy; I remove my rifle stock the evening after a day of hunting in the rain.  I dry off the barreled action and stock interior and let them air dry a day or two.  I wipe the barreled action with an oil/grease cloth, reassemble and then fire a few rounds to "reseat" the action in the stock.  If a gun is glass-bedded, the normal SOP was always to fire a few rounds to "reseat" the action and then all is well. 
 
Good post.  Far too many guns that get soaked every deer season do not receive this proper care.
