For groundhogs only:
357mag on belt most of the time I'm out.
A 223 TC pistol inside a CamelBak Talon and a 22-250 or 308 HB varmint rifle.
Or, 22lr with reddot and subsonics for sneaking along fencerows and popping them close in and a HB varmint rifle slung over my shoulder.
Sometimes I'll take the 222 BDL Varmint and and the 308 VSF at the same time.
You never, ever want to be under-gunned when you're lookin' for pasture grizzlies...
For deer it's usually a Pennsylvania Longrifle.
Or the Brown Bess with bayonet...
