The biggest improvement is to skip the Leu type reticule system as it lets any reticle set in that type of eyepiece to turn pink or fade out when light hits the objective. In dim light they are not as distinct as some European type reticule systems.

I noticed that when Lyman went to the Perma Center system long ago that my reticules faded just like todays Loopies.

The old scopes did not fade out but the reticules needed an adjustable mount to center them.

Then I discovered the type of ocular that Zeiss uses and I have bought four Zeiss scopes and will order another this summer.

These scopes have better definition than a Loopie to my eyes as well.
